Afterthought Solutions has teamed up with the Centro para Emprendedores and Startup.pr, both local initiatives aimed at developing the local entrepreneurial ecosystem in Puerto Rico. As part of the grants they have received for these initiatives, they have developed curriculum’s to guide their cohort participants through various aspects of entrepreneurship.
Afterthought collaborates with them by offering the training session on intellectual property. In a four hour session, we introduce the cohort participants to various aspects of intellectual property, but more importantly we provide them with tools to identify the role and importance of intellectual property in their business.
K to 12
In 2017 we teamed up with Grupo Guayacán, Inc. to develop and offer a Guayacán sponsored student entrepreneurship educational program. This program is designed to arm students with the basic tools and understanding of entrepreneurship. The curriculum allows students to navigate their business ideas through the landscape of idea generation, customer validation, intellectual property considerations and pitching.
Our pilot program was successfully launched at The Tasis School in Dorado during the academic year 2017-2018.
Education and Training
American University of Puerto Rico is a recipient of Title V Successful Learning Project Federal Grant. As part of the grant, they selected courses to be enhanced as hybrid courses available to students through an educational platform. We delivered onsite educational training for American University faculty and staff directly involved in the program.
As a reference tool to be used by American University, we developed and delivered a FAQ guide on common copyright and fair use questions at institutions of higher education.
Education and Training
The School of Professional Studies at the Sistema Universitario Ana G. Méndez is developing an online curriculum. As such they wanted to ensure that staff and faculty involved in the project be aware of copyright issues and fair use practices regarding online courses.
We created a training course for them. As part of course, participants will not only learn the basics on copyright and fair use matters, but will also gain best practice insights.
